We recommend that to keep children rear facing as long as you can. To proceed with forward facing installation child’s shoulders must gone past child seats lowest shoulder markers without newborn inserts. We don’t install forward facing when child’s shoulders are at the markers. Also we require child to be available at the time of the installation so installer can check shoulder hight before installing forward facing. We can only install rear facing otherwise.
